George Franklin Wright, 68, departed this life on February 25, 2024, for his eternal home with his savior, Jesus Christ.

George was raised in Soddy Daisy and graduated from Soddy Daisy High School in 1973. In July of 1974, George married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Beene.

George started his career in construction by framing houses. In 1985, George received his State of TN General Contractors license and started George Wright Construction. He was a member of the Homebuilders Association of Greater Chattanooga. George served as president of the Homebuilders Association in 2004 and served on the board of directors for many years. During his career, he built numerous houses, commercial buildings and developed subdivisions in Soddy Daisy.

George was an avid golfer and loved making memories wherever he went. He supported the UTC Football Team. George knew almost everyone in Soddy Daisy. He supported and sponsored many local community and school activities. Mayor Steve Everett recognized the services that George had provided for Soddy Daisy and proclaimed November 16, 2023 as George Wright Day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Helen Wright.

George leaves to enjoy his legacy his wife, Patricia Wright, sister, Darlene Varner (Jim), brothers, Don (Gaila) and Ron (Linda), as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 29. Services will be held at Rechoboth Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Wade Wright, Casey Varner, Travis Wright, Freddie Simmons, Mike Griffin, Dennis Welch, Garrett Gamble and Chris Grizzle.

The family wants to offer a special thanks to the staff Tennessee Oncology, especially Shayla, for their kindness and care.
