Kiwanis Club of Chattanooga provides adaptive tryke to Emma Raines
Emma Raines was diagnosed with Ullrich Congenital Muscular Dystrophy, a condition that impacts her muscles. She also has scoliosis and kyphosis that contribute to her struggles with balance.
Through a collaborative partnership with her physical therapist and the Kiwanis Club of Chattanooga, she was measured and fitted for a custom adaptive tricycle perfectly suited to her needs. Now she will be able to ride her bike with her sister and her family.
The Amtryke Adaptive Tricycle program is about abilities, not disabilities. Their goal is provide people who benefit from their trykes with all the classic advantages of riding a bike; mobility, strength, exercise, coordination, interaction with family and friends, and just pure fun.
This is the third adaptive tryke that the Kiwanis Club of Chattanooga has donated to a deserving child. To provide information about other children in the community who may benefit from one of these trykes, contact Michele Chandler at kiwanischatt@comcast.net.
