  • Sunday, April 14, 2024
Chattanooga Lookouts outfielder Jack Rogers belted a walk-off two-run home run to give the Lookouts the 7-5 win. The walk-off homer was Rogers' second of the day. The outfielder finished with three hits, three runs, and four RBIs.

Today the Smokies struck first, jumping out to a two-run lead. In the bottom of the third inning, Rogers hit his first home run of the day, a two-run shot, to tie the game for Chattanooga Lookouts. Both teams traded runs over the next couple of innings and the Lookouts found themselves trailing 5-4 entering the ninth.

With one out, Austin Hendrick singled and then advanced to second on a Jose Torres fly ball.
The speedy outfielder then scored when Eric Yang laced an RBI single up the middle. Rogers was the next batter and laced the game-winning homer over the right-field fence to give the Lookouts their third win in a row.

Lookouts reliever Zach Maxwell, was lights out once again in the team's win. For the third time this season, the right-hander has struckout three batters in a game. He also earned his first win of the season.

Monday, the team heads to Biloxi before returning home to Chattanooga on April 23rd against the Birmingham Barons.
