Sarah Unterholzner won her heat Saturday afternoon in the women’s 400 meter hurdles with a personal record time of 1:04.69 and placed 24th overall.

“Sarah got us off to a great start with a heat win and a PR,” Chattanooga head coach Andy Meyer said. “She was in third in the backstretch and made a strong move with 150 meters to go and finished strong.”

Ava McGue just missed her PR in the 400 meter dash, placing fourth in the her heat with a time of 1:01.59, .04 seconds off her best time in the outdoor race.

Lexi Foley and Kennedy Reynolds each PR’d in the women’s 800 meter run.
Foley beat out her outdoor PR time by more than one second while Reynolds edged hers by .71 seconds. Foley was eighth in her heat and Reynolds finished second in hers.

“Lexi’s race went out very fast and then she made a strong effort at the 200 meter and caught several falling off the fast pace,” Meyer said. “Kennedy was able to hold position in the Top Four of her race. With about 150 meters to go, she put ona strong move and was able to PR.”

The women’s 4x400 meter team closed out the meet finishing 13th and 14th. The Chattanooga A team was fourth in their heat with a time of 4:15.87.

“Our A 4x400m team competed well with Sarah handing off to Olivia Steele then Lexi Foley and Ava McGue anchored us home,” Meyer said. “The B team also ran well with Brooke Tyll leading off followed by Allie Potter then Kenney Reynolds and Hannah Dearing anchoring the team.

“We had a very good day today with everyone improving and setting themselves up well for the conference meet in a couple weeks.”
