Travis Edward Pickens was born on March 19, 1970, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to James Pickens and Helen Parrish Cartwright both deceased. He departed this life on Sunday April 14, 2024, at age 54.

Travis attended Howard High School. Travis worked repairing and selling vehicles. He was known for his “SMOOTH” loving personality and great sense of humor. Travis was a man gifted with his hands; from giving family and friends a fresh haircut, to ensuring any vehicle he touched ran smoothly.

From a small child, he was raised in New Anointing Pure Holiness Church of God and Sharon Pentecostal Deliverance Church of God. Travis loved God. He also adored his family and friends. He took pleasure in traveling, riding his motorcycles, and good music.

Travis was preceded in death by both parents, paternal and maternal grandparents, and his brother, Matthew Cartwright.

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, LaDonna Grayson Pickens, Chattanooga, Kiara Fuller, Kingston, Ga., and Renee (Orlandas) Earley; one son, Darius Pickens, Anniston, Al.; sister/cousin Minister Lynn Parrish-Lewis, Franklin, NC; best friend Clarence Goodwin; caretaker/friend Mary Simpson; a host of grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephew and other special relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, April 26, from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

An 11 a.m. funeral service will be held at Sharon Pentecostal Deliverance Church of God, at 1400 E 48th Street, 37407, on Saturday, April 27.

Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
