Hixson Council Chamber Of Commerce Donates $5K To Hixson High School Band

  • Tuesday, April 9, 2024
The Hixson Council of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce is donating $5,000 to the Hixson High School Band Boosters to help purchase new instruments for the band.

"Hixson High School suffered a loss of band uniforms and equipment in a flood last year. Those items were replaced and the Hixson Council wanted to contribute to help fund new instruments for the band to compliment the new uniforms," officials said.

“We are so delighted that the local Chamber wanted to invest in our band,” Torey Hart, band director at Hixson High School.
said. “Our students will be excited to get the new instruments.”

“Supporting our community and education has always been a passion of the Hixson Council,” said Nancy Hoover, Hixson Council president. “All of the money we raise each year goes right back into the schools in our local footprint.”

While at the school, the Hixson Council held their monthly meeting, where they toured the three Future Ready Institutes.
