Erlanger Hosts Summer Outreach Safety Fest Saturday

  • Tuesday, May 28, 2024

Erlanger will host a Summer Outreach Safety Fest on Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at the Washington Hills Community Center.

S.O.S. Fest is a free event providing a fun and safe environment where community members can learn health and safety tips from local health experts and first responders. The goal of this event is to ensure that families are equipped with the knowledge they need to stay safe while enjoying the summer months. Safety topics include firearm safety, fire prevention, driving safety, water safety, elderly care and more.

The event will include free food, food trucks, 50+ exhibitors, speakers and more.

Erlanger Trauma Outreach and Injury Prevention Coordinator, Regena Young said, “S.O.S. Fest is an excellent opportunity for individuals of all ages to come out and have loads of fun while finding resources to kick off an exciting and safe summer! Our community partners are working together to give back to our neighbors and share education while having a blast with music, games, activities, food, and door prizes. We would love to see as many participants as possible at this event and encourage whole families to come out.”

The public health and safety event is organized by members of Erlanger, Chattanooga Fire Department, Chattanooga Police Department, city of Chattanooga Office of Community Health, Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors, and the city of Chattanooga Department of Community Development.

“The S.O.S. Fest is a great community event that brings safety initiatives straight to the heart of the community. This event brings information that is important for all age groups and also allows families to enjoy time together as well as with their community and leaders,” said Captain Damien Vinson, Chattanooga Fire Department’s Community Outreach coordinator.

The Washington Hills Community Center is at 4628 Oakwood Dr.
