Choir students from the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy had their first-ever performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Led by Music Director Maestra Sarah Pearson, the students performed at the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.

Reflecting on their unforgettable experience, the students expressed their gratitude and awe. "The New York trip exceeded our expectations, " the choir members shared. "Singing at Carnegie Hall was an exceptional moment.”

Maestra Sarah Pearson made her grand Carnegie Hall conducting debut and said she was thrilled to lead the combined chorus and orchestra. "Their performance was nothing short of spectacular, and it will be remembered with great admiration and joy," she said. "Each and every person involved contributed to the enchantment of that evening. Their passion, skill, and hard work were evident in every note, transporting us to a realm of pure artistry and emotion. I am thrilled that the High School Select Choir students from CGLA were able to experience this extraordinary experience."

The performance, featuring renowned composers Mark Hayes and Elaine Hagenberg, showcased the students' talent and dedication, earning them a heartfelt standing ovation from the audience, said officials.

The concert, hosted by MidAmerica Productions, Inc., featured ensembles from across the nation, including the Carolina Choral Artists, the Concert Choir of the Greenville Choral Society, Lakeside Baptist Church, and the Pompton Lakes High School Choir.
