Ben Groves, 64, of Chattanooga, Tennessee went to be with our heavenly father on the 14th of June, 2024. His sudden passing will continue to be a shock to us; however, we have joy and happiness knowing he is with the Lord, and rejoicing with his mother and father, Jim and Peggy Groves.

Ben was born in Louisville, Ky., on January 31, 1960. He and his family moved to Pikeville, Tn., in 1969 where he loved exploring the outdoors, riding horses, and spending time with his family and friends. He played football as an offensive tackle for three years for Bledsoe County High School where he graduated.

He attended Chattanooga State and Tennessee Tech, earning a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked lifelong in construction and similar fields and always took so much pride in the work he did and it showed. He began his career as a Civil Engineering working in Louisiana where he worked in the Salt Mine business. He then moved back to Chattanooga, to begin a successful career in commercial construction for 41 years. He was a valuable asset for whatever venture he was attached to.

He had a wonderful life and it was filled with wonderful people. His love of people is what got him up in the morning. He never knew a stranger. He was the life of the party and the ultimate host. He loved the outdoors and he loved to travel. He had a love of motorcycles and four-wheelers. He loved The Tennessee Volunteers. He loved his family most of all.

He is survived by his wife, Brooke Groves, Chattanooga, his son, Logan (Jade) Groves, Chattanooga, his siblings, Nanette Groves (Jerry) Smith, Pikeville, and Becky Groves, Franklin, Tn., and his granddaughter, Ophelia Groves, Chattanooga, his sister and brother-in-law, Jonathan and Kristy Montieth, Chattanooga, and his many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, Peggy Groves, father, Jimmy Groves, and his nephew, Patton.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 21, at Calvary Chapel Chattanooga with Pastor Frank officiating.

Visit www.heritagebattlefield.com to share condolences with the family.

Family will receive friends from 2–4 p.m. at the church before the memorial service.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
