Rep. Yusuf Hakeem was joined by members of the Tennessee Black Caucus to recognize former Rep. Joanne Favors as the East Division’s ‘Living Legend,’ in recognition of her 14 years of service in the Tennessee General Assembly and her lifetime of service as a dedicated community advocate.
“My friend Representative Favors is much more than just a politician or a tireless public servant,” said Rep. Hakeem. “She is a mother and worked a career as a nurse and a board member of her hospital.
I did not have to think very long when I considered who would be Chattanooga’s Living Legend. Joanne stands tall above the crowd and she already is a living legend in my book - this just cements that status into the history books.”
