Summerween To Take Place At Patten Parkway

Summerween is being planned by River City Company, the organization that promotes economic development for Downtown Chattanooga. The special event will be held next Saturday from 6-10 p.m. at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Patten Parkway.

Attendees are encouraged to come in Halloween costumes. The street will be filled with performers such as fire dancers, magicians and live music, along with vintage and eclectic vendors.

There will also be activities such as a watermelon carving contest and an adult costume contest.

Other special events that took place this Saturday received temporary beer permits from the city. The BBQ Bash Art and Farmers Market at Coolidge Park, 150 River Street, was able to serve beer during the event that lasted from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday. Rabbit Valley Farmer’s Market organized the event that was dedicated to barbeque, watermelon and corn on the cob. Summer beverages such as ciders, champagne and beer were available after Robertt Davis was approved for a temporary beer permit, for that day. The market also included vendors selling arts and crafts, performances by several musicians and farm produce for sale.

The local brewery Hutton & Smith Brewing Co. received a temporary beer permit for their 9th anniversary special event party. It was held at 431 E. M.L. King Blvd. on Saturday with several new draft beer releases and live music All proceeds went to benefit dogs at McKamey Animal Center.
