Work will begin on Tuesday,to resurface nearly 8.5 miles of roadway in Dalton. The annual LMIG (Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant) resurfacing project will start with work on Tibbs Road. Other roads that will be resurfaced during the project include Abutment Road, Tony Ingle Parkway, and Glenwood Avenue which will be resurfaced at night.
Northwest Geogia Paving, Inc. is the contractor on the project. They will begin milling work on Tibbs Road on Tuesday. The work will span the length of the road between Walnut Avenue and Shugart Road. Crews will be on hand to direct traffic around the road work, but motorists should plan alternate routes to avoid delays. Abutment Road (between State Route 3 and Walnut Avenue), Tony Ingle Parkway, and Glenwood Avenue (between Walnut Avenue and the Bypass) will be completed after Tibbs Road.
