Why I'm Voting For Tammy Barnes For District 1 School Board

  • Wednesday, July 17, 2024

District 1 Friends,

This year we have the opportunity to elect a new representative to the Hamilton County School Board. I ask you to consider your options carefully, as Rhonda Thurman is vacating the seat and both candidates will be new to the School Board.

As for me, I will be casting my vote for Tammy Barnes. Why, you ask? Because I have witnessed firsthand her dedication to our schools. I have had many conversations with her about what can be done to improve them, and what they are getting right.

I have volunteered with Tammy in our schools for the past three years. She is in our schools, involved with booster clubs, PTAs, and even substitute teaching in our classrooms. While she was not born and bred in Soddy Daisy, she moved to our community over 20 years ago and made it her home. She loves our town and the people.

Tammy has three children who graduated or are currently attending District 1 schools. She has seen firsthand what the needs of our students, our educators, our school leaders are. When she began her campaign to run for the School Board, it was not a decision based on ego, but because she felt a desire to help our schools and our community.

Tammy has led a life of service, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Her commitment to making our schools the best they can be is why I know that she will be an excellent representative of Soddy Daisy and District 1.

Early voting has started.  Please visit her website or follow Tammy Barnes for School Board D1 on Facebook and find out why you should consider casting your vote for Tammy Barnes.
