A store manager in the 3900 block of Ringgold Road said he went to the bank and apparently forgot to lock the
front door. He said he checked the store before leaving, but did not check the restroom. Upon returning, the store manager said the registers had been entered and as much as $800 had been stolen. In the video provided, a
younger man can be seen exiting the restroom at approximately 11:48 a.m., going through the registers and taking cash before exiting the store.
A doctor’s office in the 500 block of Bonnie Lassie Avenue requested police check on a resident due to suspected elder abuse.
Officers contacted the woman, who advised she was okay. Upon calling the reporting party back, it was found the woman was not in danger of abuse; rather, a family member told a nurse she had thoughts of harming the woman. Police revisited the residence to speak with her, but found it to be unoccupied. A follow-up will be conducted.
Officers spoke with a woman at the police department, who reported an unknown woman approached her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway in the 3600 block of Fountain Avenue at 3:21 a.m. In the video provided, the woman, who approached her vehicle from the side of the house, appeared to be talking to someone on her
cell phone. The woman did not damage or remove anything from the Jeep but the caller wanted to document the incident as she is unfamiliar with the woman.
A woman in the 1600 block of S. Smith Street called to report a known man drove slowly by her house in his black Toyota Tundra. She claimed he was harassing her family over an issue of uncompleted carpentry work. Officers located the man at his residence in Georgia to address any possible issues between the parties. He was agitated and argumentative with police, but agreed to not have communication with the parties.
Police responded the 6600 block of Hilton Drive after neighbors reported the elderly resident rolling around in the yard and yelling. Officers contacted the man who presented a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and appeared to be experiencing deep emotions about his dog. Officers spoke with him and coaxed him into his residence for the night.
DCS contacted police after a young juvenile tested positive for methamphetamine and methadone on a drug screen. The child’s mother is believed to be responsible for the drug exposure.
A burglar alarm activation in the 900 block of McBrien Road proved to be accidental.
During a traffic stop, deputies with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office located a juvenile reported missing out of East Ridge. The girl was found with her non-custodial parents. ERPD verified the girl as missing and found she had a Juvenile Attachment through Hamilton County. ERPD officers met with CCSO deputies near Monteagle and transported the girl to the Hamilton County JDU. CCSO arrested the parents on related charges.
Police checked the area of the 5300 block of Stone Street for stolen luggage that contained an Apple Air
Tag. An officer recovered the Air Tag, but did not locate any other items. Police also found that the luggage was stolen from the Chattanooga Airport. Airport police have been notified of the theft and are investigating the
incident.
Police responded to the report of an aggressive medical patient in the 3100 block of Seminole Crest Lane. Officers determined the patient was not aggressive and cleared the scene for EMS.
Police responded to a suspicious activity complaint in the 500 block of S. Germantown Road and found
several people in the parking lot. During a consent search, a woman was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. She also had an extraditable probation warrant through Catoosa County, Ga. She was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.
A man was stopped for a registration violation in the 6500 block of Ringgold Road after his temporary tag was
found to be associated with several vehicles. Police also found the temporary tag had been altered and copied several times. After a field interview, he was released, and the altered tag was seized. The primary officer will consult with CID on possible warrants after further investigation.
Police received several complaints of an individual rummaging through trash cans and running up and down the 6300 block of Ringgold Road. Police located the man near the car wash and determined he was the responsible person. He agreed to relocate to another area for the night.
Following a crash investigation in the 5300 block of Clemons Road, a man was taken into custody for suspicion of
driving under the influence. He was also charged with violation of the open container law.
A large tree fell in the 1300 block of Greens Lake Road and obstructed the roadway. The East Ridge Fire Department responded to the scene and cleared the roadway with police assistance.
Police responded to a basement motion alarm in the 1400 block of St. Thomas Street. The responding officers found no signs of forced entry and no suspicious people in the area.
