Weathers, White Co-Leaders at Brainerd Invitational

Andrew Weathers continued to build upon his recent Men’s Metro victory to claim a share of the lead after Saturday’s first round of the Brainerd Invitational Regular Division.

Weathers’ 5-under 67 was equaled by Case White as both golfers recorded six birdies on the day.

Dustin Gill is in third at 3-under 69, while seven golfers tied for fourth at 2-under 70 include defending champion Keoni Vidrine, Wallace McKinney, Gavin Greeson, Wes Spillers, John Thomas McKenzie, Sam Levine and Taylor Lewis.

Jay Potter leads the Senior Division at 8-under 64 as his impressive round featured nine birdies.

Zeb Patten stands alone in second at 7-under 65, just ahead of Brent Henley’s 6-under 66. Steve Johnson occupies fourth at 4-under 68, while defending champion Joe Markham Jr. and David Burke are tied for fifth at 2-under 70.

Richard Brame and Mike Jenkins are deadlocked atop the Super Senior Flight at even par 72. Jim Brett and Rob Smith are one stroke back at 1-over 73.
