Not Voting Is The Willful Neglect Of Privilege People Have Died For

  • Sunday, August 4, 2024

As a poll watcher during elections, I have the opportunity to observe and watch voters exercise their franchise.

Some people need walkers, others wheelchairs, still others canes, but they vote. One instance really struck me: a couple brought in a gentleman who was disabled and in a wheelchair, and he wanted to vote. They drove up from Atlanta to bring him to the voting location. Pretty impressive.

Simply put, reading that only 15 percent of registered voters participated in Thursday's election is the willful neglect of a privilege that many people died for. Vote, people, vote.
