Ralph Stephen Brown, 73, of Flintstone, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024.

He was a graduate of FIU with a Bachelor of Science, class of 1974. He was an investigator with the Chattanooga Police Department for 25 years, supervisor of the Fugitive Task Force and was Investigator of the Year in 2000. He was given the nickname “Bulldog” by his co-workers. In 2003, he retired from the city of Chattanooga. He was also a park ranger with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Brown.

Survivors included his wife, Joan Alice Brown; sons, Brian Brown (Crystal) and Corey Brown (Janel); grandchildren: Hannah Brown, Hailey Brown, Blake Robertson, Emyle Brown, Corey Brown Jr. and Carson Brown.

Visitation is from 4–8 p.m. on Thursday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace.

Funeral service is at 11 a.m. on Friday in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chattanooga Police Department.
