The Chattanooga Mocs have always had a firm place in the Scenic City media scene. The radio presence on gameday and throughout the week is premier in the FCS/Mid-Major landscape. That continues in 2024-25 with the announcement Thursday of an extension in the partnership between Mocs Sports Properties and WFLI “The Big One”.
WFLI provides three spots on the radio dial for Mocs faithful to listen to football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball matchups. There are two FM – 96.1 & 100.3 – and the iconic 1070 AM which is also home to the weekly Chat with the Mocs program.
"One of our core pieces is this flagship program," Mocs Sports Properties GM Zach Huston shared.
"WFLI is a fantastic partner for us with three strong placements in the Chattanooga area. It is a fantastic foundation to build off for the Mocs Sports Network.
"We're grateful to have them on board with Chattanooga athletics."
“Voice of the Mocs” Jim Reynolds enters his 45th season as the lead play-by-play announcer. He has called so many legendary moments for the department over those years that he is one of the faces of Mocs athletics. He’s back on the mic for both football and men’s basketball.
There’s a new lead for women’s basketball with the retirement of Larry Ward. Will Poindexter was announced Tuesday as the women’s play-by-play caller adding to his long-time role as sideline commentator for football broadcasts.
The Mocs football team opens the season at Tennessee on Aug. 31. The first home game is also the Southern Conference opener against Mercer on Sept. 14. The home slate also includes visits from Portland State, Wofford, VMI and Samford. Tickets are available here or by calling (423) 266-MOCS (6627).
