Janice Harden Burke, 71 of Harrison, died peacefully in her sleep at home on September 28, 2024.

She was born in Avondale, and raised in Ooltewah. She was a 1972 graduate of Ooltewah High School, and has many lifelong friends. Jan had a deep love for the Lord, and was of the Baptist faith. She was employed at Farmer’s Chemical, and for over 29 years at Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ora Harden; siblings, Barbara Jeanette Shoemake Burke, Lela Sue Brotherton, Wanda Faye Davis, and Frank D. “Sonny” Harden.

Jan is survived by her husband of 52 years, Johnny Burke; and their son Andall (Crystal) Burke; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Mackenzie, A.J., and Bethany. Siblings Phyllis (Charles) Oliver, Charles Harden, John (Arlee) Harden, Carolyn Gilliam, Sheilah Harden, and several nieces & nephews.

A visitation for Janice will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 4-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home Valley View Chapel, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

A funeral service will occur on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 12:30 p.m. at 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

A committal service will occur at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37404.
