The Number 1 Priority Is To Vote

  • Monday, January 13, 2025

The qualifying deadline has passed, and the next race to choose the occupants of the mayor's office and nine city council seats has now been set for March 5 in the Scenic City, Dynamo of Dixie, Gig City, Choo Choo City, etc.

The number one priority is to vote. Who you vote for is a privilege that you have and should not be wasted (sorry to sound historical). The races are listed as non-partisan, but we know they ain't.

Chattanooga (and Hamilton County) are at important crossroads, to grow to be the next Atlanta or Nashville, or to control and to limit the expansions of the population at a level that doesn't benefit a small selective group at the expense of 187,000 plus citizens (2023).

The changes in Washington, DC creates Republican euphoria, while Democrats face a hostile environment in Congress and the White House.

Time will tell whether America will undergo a country boom or bust economic future for the next four years. On the local level, Chattanooga and Hamilton County may face issues that need to be addressed, gripes made, complaints submitted to your proverbial hearts content, etc., but if you fail to engage in the process listed in the second paragraph, your comments have less value, and could affect the outcomes, if adopted, by a large number of citizens/voters for the next four years (and beyond).
