Hunter McKee Appointed McKee Foods Vice President Of Manufacturing, Collegedale Operations

The board of directors of McKee Foods Corporation on Tuesday announced the appointment of Samuel Hunter McKee as vice president of Manufacturing, Collegedale Operations, effective June 28. Mr. McKee succeeds Rich Kerns, who will retire this summer after 35 years with McKee Foods.

In his new role, Mr. McKee is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing in the company’s Collegedale facilities, the company’s largest manufacturing campus of its three centers of
production. 

A member of the currently-rising fourth generation of McKee family ownership, Mr. McKee began
working summer jobs at McKee Foods from the age of 16, including in the machine shop, the Bakery Store, Manufacturing and others. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the UTC, a Master of Science in industrial engineering from UTK and an MBA from UTC.

In his professional career, Mr. McKee worked as a production supervisor at food processor OSI Group in Chicago, and as an engineer at Tyson Foods, also in Chicago. Since returning to McKee Foods, Mr. McKee worked in the Process group in Corporate Engineering and his current role is Human Resources manager, Collegedale Operations.
