Lometta Horne, 86, went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in her Soddy Daisy home surrounded and covered in love by her family.

“Doe”, as her friends and family often called her, ran her restaurant “Horne’s” for 25 years. After retiring from the restaurant business, she went to work for many years in the Hamilton County Dept. of Education SACC program loving on multiple children in their elementary days. As a good and faithful member to her home church, New Salem Baptist, she served alongside many great women of the church serving food over the years at many functions. She showed the love of Jesus in all that she did and spent her days praying over all those that she loved. If she wasn’t gardening, cooking, or taking care of a child, she was spending her time with her family. Her love of Jesus and family is what kept her going through the years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a faithful servant of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Glenn Horne; father and mother, George and Dolly Goins; brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son and daughter, Kevin (Sandy) Horne and Sheri VonSchaaf; grandchildren, Amanda (Don) VonSchaaf, Ashley (Luis) Vela, Wesley Horne, Allie (Jon) Dunn; great-grandchildren, Gunner and Shepherd; and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, with the funeral directly following with Caleb Bolton officiating.

Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379, 423 843-2525.
