U.S. Army Veteran Held Long Career With Chattanooga Gas Company

Henry Williams, 85, was born on December 24, 1939, to the late Alonzo and Ermia Williams in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He passed away on January 29, 2025.

Henry served his country in the United States Army and worked for many years at the Chattanooga Gas Company. He enjoyed fishing and working in his garden. He also played in the band.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Bridgette Williams; and brothers, William Staten, Herman Williams, and Alfred Staten.

He leaves precious memories to his two daughters, Shirley Williams and Barbara Williams; son, Johnny Williams; sister, Erma Williams Brown; former wife, Maggie Mae Williams; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Baile Ave.

Arrangements are by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, 423 622-9995.
