Honor Huff attempts a 3-pointer against Mercer last Saturday

After helping lead Chattanooga to a pair of victories last week, Honor Huff was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week as the league office announce the award on Monday afternoon.
The SoCon Player of the Week award is Huff’s first of the season and second of his career after previously earning the laurel last season on February 19, 2024. This marks the second UTC POTW selection of the season after Trey Bonham’s honor back on December 16.
Including Wednesday’s 84-60 win at Western Carolina and Saturday’s 93-84 home win over Mercer, Huff finished the week averaging 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game while shooting an efficient 54.2% (13-24) from the floor, 52.6% (10-19) from three and a perfect 100.0% (5-5) from the line.
Huff knocked down seven 3-pointers (7-11, 63.6%) and scored a game-high 25 points in Wednesday’s win at WCU while adding in five rebounds, three assists and two steals. In Saturday’s win over Mercer, Huff scored 16 points on 9-14 (44.4%) shooting including a 3-8 (37.5%) mark from deep and 5-5 (100.0%) tally from the charity stripe.
For the season, Huff currently ranks second in the Southern Conference and 15th in all of NCAA Division I with 70 3-pointers made while his 40.9% (70-171) 3FG% ranks fourth in the league and 54th nationally. In addition, he ranks third in the league and 32nd nationally with a 3.04 3-pointers per game average this season.
Huff’s 179 total 3-pointers in a Chattanooga uniform currently ranks fifth in program history while his 3.19 3FGM per-game average as a Moc is currently tied for third. Huff surpassed 1,200 career points during Saturday’s win over Mercer and now holds a 1,202-career total over 88 games between UTC and VMI.
