CADAS announces the groundbreaking of a new sober living apartment building, made possible by a $500,000 grant from the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and a $600,000 grant from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency. These funds will go towards building 16 sober living apartments. This funding underscores the state’s recognition of CADAS’ role in addressing addiction and supporting recovery within the community.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the 16 sober living apartments will take place on Friday, March 21, at 10 a.m. at 207-B Spears Ave.
All 16 apartments will target low-income housing and will be vouchered through the Chattanooga Housing Authority. The new facility is designed to provide a supportive environment for individuals in recovery. These apartments will serve as a resource for those transitioning from treatment programs, helping them to reintegrate into society while receiving the support they need to maintain their sobriety.
"We are excited to break ground on this much-needed sober living facility," said Brad Franks, senior director of Operations.
"The generous grants from the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and the Tennessee Housing Development Agency allow us to expand our services and create a nurturing environment for individuals in recovery," said Paul Fuchcar, executive director, CADAS. "Special thanks also for the support of the Chattanooga Housing Authority on this project as well, with all three playing a vital role.”
CADAS has long provided effective and compassionate care for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The new sober living apartments will not only offer a safe space for residents but will also foster community connections and provide resources for ongoing recovery.
