Patricia “Pat” Laderer
Patricia “Pat” Laderer was born April 5,1945 in Dayton, Pa., and passed away suddenly on January 10, 2025.
Pat was predeceased by her parents and husband, Dr. John E Laderer. She was the wife of a minister and moved throughout their married life having resided in Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, Mississippi and again in Ohio. Through all of her travels she always was learning and completed her education from UTC later in life. Pat returned to Tennessee where her daughter and family resided. Her son joined her a few years later.
Pat joined Burks UMC when returning to Tennessee. She had a heart for God and lived her faith. She participated in Bible Studies, Sunday school, ladies circle and mission trips.
Pat was known as the “Hat Lady.” Rarely did you see her without a hat whether she was shopping, walking her neighborhood or at church. Pat was a neighbor who would dig up flower bulbs from her yard and walk to a friend’s yard and plant the bulbs herself. She loved to quilt, sew, read and was a published author. Her hats will be missed by many.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Wayne Calbaugh, son James Laderer, grandchildren, Cole (Rae) Calbaugh and Claire Calbaugh.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Burks UMC on what would have been Pat’s 80th birthday, Saturday, April 5. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. service. There will be a small reception immediately following.
