McCallie Middle School Tennis Avenges Loss To Stone Brook, 5-4

The Blue Tornado middle school tennis team avenged a 6-3 loss from the day before to defeat the Mountain Brook Spartans 5-4 in middle school tennis.  Brantley Lockhart at number 5 singles was the first winner with an 8-3 victory followed by number 1 player Sam Harris with an 8-4 win. 

Next off was #3 player Wylie Shumate with a hard fought 8-6 win.  Finally, number 2 player Liam Tabibiazar overcame a 5-1 deficit and 2 match points at 7-6 to win 9-8 and give McCallie a 4-2 lead after singles.  He played an amazing tie-breaker!

With McCallie needing only1 doubles win, that win came from the number 1 doubles team of Sam Harris and Liam Tabibiazar with an 8-4 victory.  They lost against the same team the day before by a 9-7 score.  It was a huge, hard fought win for the Big Blue!

The McCallie B team was also victorious with a 5-1 victory over the Mountain Brook B team.  Winners for the Blue Tornado included Rhys Coleman, AJ Gupta,Vikranth Basava, Zoan von Schultz, Raiine Lyons and Teddy Osborne.  AJ won in both singles and doubles.
