Customer Finds Dead Mouse In Her Drink - And Other East Ridge Police Calls

Day Shift April 9: A Squad


25-003731- Ringgold Rd- Civil Matter
Police responded on reports of a female customer who found a dead mouse in her drink. She advised that she bought the beverage, drank half the drink and allowed the rest to melt. Upon the drink melting, a mouse was discovered. Police spoke with a manager who advised she would be able to send footage from that time once tech arrives to review the footage.

25-003716 – 1300 BLK Boyd Street Apartment A – Theft
A party reported that her brother stole her PlayStation 4 console and PlayStation 4 controller after she invited him to stay overnight as a guest.

She received a tip from a friend that the suspect was spotted near a pawn shop on East 23rd street. The Chattanooga Police Department then responded and found he had successfully pawned the stolen property belongings using his TN ID and left prior to their arrival. A warrant for theft of Property will be sought.

25-003730 – 4200 BLK Belvoir Drive – Domestic Assault
A man showed up to the police station with bruising on both of his eyes and requested an officer’s guidance, alleging his wife possibly elbowed him during an argument in which both parties were heavily intoxicated. He said the other black eye was from a fall. He advised he would return with his wife later in the day for a report, and the matter was not pushed since officers could not determine if his injuries were the result of an assault.

25-003723- 600 BLK Camp Jordan Pkwy- Back Fire
Police responded to this location on reports of a gas leak. Upon arrival, police observed a strong odor of gas emitting from the construction zone where a new building is being built. Police and Fire evacuated the surrounding businesses until Chattanooga Gas Company was able to get on scene. The gas was shut off and repairs were done.

Night Shift April 9: C Squad

25-003735 – 1-75 Northbound – Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries
Police responded to a vehicle crash and found a Dodge pickup had driven into the rear end of a tractor trailer. The driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment but did not appear to
have life threatening injuries. The crash temporarily shut down several lanes on the Interstate.

25-003736 – 4100 BLK East Ridge Drive – Assist Citizen
A party requested Police assistance in locating two dogs stolen from her in Cleveland. She believed the dogs were in East Ridge based on a social media post. Police spoke with a local resident about the posts, and he provided a possible address for the dogs in Georgia. Deputies from the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office met with the parties and worked to resolve the situation.

25-003738 – 1500 BLK McBrien Road – Assist Fire and EMS
Police responded to an unconscious person at this residence and provided immediate care for a
medical emergency. ERFD personnel and Hamilton County EMS responded to the location and took over care for the patient. The individual was transported to a local hospital for advanced medical support.

25-003740 – 1000 BLK S Seminole Drive – Missing Child
A local resident found a young juvenile walking through his yard and requested Police assistance. While police were on scene, a frantic female came running into the yard and was identified as the aunt of the juvenile. The aunt stated she was in another room of the house when the child snuck out through a garage door. No signs of neglect were observed, and the child was turned over to the aunt’s custody.

25-003744 – 3800 BLK Altamira Drive – Disorder with a Weapon
Police responded to a disorder involving a female with intellectual disabilities. Police found the
female made threatening gestures toward herself and others. Police also found the female had a
pizza cutter in her room and the kitchen utensil was secured. Hamilton County EMS responded
to the location and transported the female to a local hospital for treatment.

25-003745 – 4300 BLK Spriggs Street – Suspicious Activity
An anonymous person reported two individuals were on their neighbor’s porch and stole two
chairs. The reporting party would not provide an exact address for the incident or the identity of
the victim. Police checked the area and were not able to locate the suspicious persons.

25-003746 – 5400 BLK Sunny Dell Lane – Suspicious Activity
An anonymous person reported hearing nine to ten possible gun shots in a wooded area near their
home. Police checked the area but were not able to locate the source of the noise.

25-003747 – 4300 BLK Lazard Street – Domestic Assault
Police responded to a domestic disorder at this residence. Based on the evidence, officers
determined that a woman assaulted her husband. She was arrested, charged with Domestic
Assault, and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

25-003748 – 6600 BLK Ringgold Rd – Traffic Stop / Arrest
Police initiated a traffic stop with a Mitsubishi Mirage and found the driver had a Revoked Driver’s License for DUI. He was taken into custody, charged with for Driving on a Revoked License for DUI and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

25-003749 – 300 BLK Dunlap Road – Stolen Vehicle Recovery
Near an apartment complex, officers located a White Kia Forte that matched a shooting suspect
vehicle from Chattanooga. Upon checking the registration, the vehicle was confirmed as both
stolen and the suspect vehicle in a shooting. An officer with the Chattanooga PD responded to the
scene and took possession of the vehicle for evidence processing.

25-003750 – 4200 BLK Ringgold Rd – Fire Investigation
While patrolling Ringgold Road, Police observed thick smoke in and around the restaurant. Police found that an employee had started the fryer then walked outside to smoke in his car. The fryer caught fire and activated the automatic fire suppression system. The ER Fire Department has closed the business until it can be cleared by the Hamilton County Health Department.
