Hope For Our Next Generation

After Palm Sunday mass this morning I stopped by my local hardware/garden shop. Three very courteous young men quickly and carefully figured out how six large pine straw rolls could fit into my small Tesla. One of the young men commented on how sad he found it that Tesla was under attack and their owners were being shamed by the leftwing protesters. They expressed incredulousness about the local news coverage of the street corner protests against Trump and Musk. Who are these people they wondered out loud. They volunteered that the majority of their fellow students and friends were embracing conservative principles. They said the left is about taking from the government while the right is about strengthening our nation. All three attend Hamilton County high schools. Are your parents involved in your education I asked and they laughed and said as much or more than their teachers. Their work never slowed  – they had several cars behind me to load. They thanked me for shopping at the store and wished me a good afternoon. You can call it a vibe shift – I call it young people learning life lessons early. They certainly gave me a wonderful Sunday gift – hope for our nation’s future.
