Clyde Ronnie “Ron” Tucker
Clyde Ronnie “Ron” Tucker, 78, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed peacefully at home on April 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong Chattanoogan, Ron was born on May 1, 1946, graduated from Chattanooga Central High School, and attended MTSU and the University of Chattanooga. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS San Marcos, later completing service in the Naval Reserve until 1972.
Ron never met a stranger. A natural people-person and born salesman, he spent decades in sales and over 35 years in real estate, where his dedication and heart earned him numerous honors, including the 2017 George Kangles Community Citizenship Award, 2019 GCR Realtor of the Year, 2019 Tennessee Realtors President’s Award, and 2022 Chair of GCR’s Governmental Affairs Committee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Peggy Tucker; sister, Brenda T. Clowdus; and son, Daniel Patrick Tucker. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; daughters, Amanda Tucker Gross and Rebecca Tucker (Billy) Parr; stepdaughter, Kim Hearn Hendricks; grandson, Daniel Tucker Gross; granddaughter, Sarah Paige Gross; niece, Sherri (Richard) Pirtle; great-niece, KaLee Pirtle; great-nephew, Mason Pirtle; and his beloved cats, Sophie and Bella.
The family thanks Hearth Hospice and Dragonfly Home Health for their compassionate care.
A memorial visitation will be on Wednesday, April 23, from 4-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343. Ron will be laid to rest with full Navy honors in a private service at Chattanooga National Cemetery, with Pastor Crystal Fallesen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude or the Hamilton County Humane Society.
