The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team moved up into second place with 18 holes to play at the Southern Conference Women’s Golf Championships. The Mocs shot 303 at Solina Golf Club in West Columbia, S.C.
Makenzie Cooper had the low round with 73. Giulia Foresta was next with 75, one stroke ahead of Violeta Fernandez-Tagle. Kera Healey closed the ledger with 79. Cooper and Fernandez-Tagle are tied for seventh overall with 151 (+7), while Foresta is a shot out of the top 10 tied for 11th.
The Mocs return to the tee Wednesday morning at 9:20 a.m.
Nieves Martin is up first with Healey, Foresta, Fernandez-Tagle and Cooper following in 10-minute increments. They are paired with Furman and Mercer. The Paladins lead by nine with another six strokes separating Chattanooga and the Bears.
