MidAmerica Productions will present an afternoon of extraordinary choral music on Sunday, May 11, at 1 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. This performance will feature the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Chorus and Choral Arts of Chattanooga, (Darrin Hassevoort, Director), and the renowned New England Symphonic Ensemble (Preston Hawes, Artistic Director). The choirs will perform Haydn’s Te Deum (Empress Marie Therese), under the baton of Darrin Hassevoort; and Vivaldi’sI Magnificat, RV 610, conducted by Francis Cathlina, featuring soloists Virginia Mims (soprano), Abigail Levis, (mezzo-soprano), Christopher Bozeka, (tenor), and Andrew Gilstrap, (bass-baritone).

The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Chorus and Choral Arts of Chattanooga will be joined by Brighton Choir, Brighton, Tn. (Matthew Bowsher, Director), LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, New York, NY (Jana Ballard, Director), Memphis Central Concert Singers, Memphis Tn. (Roland Wilson, Director), and Milan Special School District, Milan, T (Paige Wilson, Director).
All participating musicians will spend five days and four nights in New York City in preparation for their concert. They will also spend nine to ten hours in rehearsal as well as touring New York City.
