Chattanooga beach volleyball’s top-flight pairing of Neva Clark and Corina Vale raked in their second weekly honor of the 2025 season, as the duo was named as the final Ohio Valley Conference Pair of the Week of the season, the league office revealed on Tuesday.
Clark and Vale have been a force of nature playing in Chattanooga’s 1’s position, as the pair currently holds a record of 22-6 on the season while finishing conference play with a perfect 10-0 record. The UTC duo went a perfect 4-0 this past weekend at the team’s final tournament of the regular season, the OVC Weekend at Morehead, where they also helped the Sandy Mocs clinch the outright Ohio Valley Conference regular season title after the team finished undefeated in conference action.
The last time Clark and Vale were honored by the OVC with a weekly award came back on March 25 when the pair was named Co-OVC Pair of the Week by the conference.
UTC finishes the season having won a total of three weekly awards from the OVC. Clark and Vale are now waiting to find out on Wednesday if they will be named the OVC’s Pair of the Year for the second consecutive season.
In the pair’s final weekend of action for the 2025 regular season, the duo not only failed to drop a match but also failed to drop a single set as they strung together four-straight straight-set victories on Court 1. Their weekend opened with a 21-17, 21-7 win in UTC’s win over Tennessee Tech before closing out Friday with a 21-13, 21-14 result over Lindenwood.
Saturday kicked off with Clark and Vale continuing their winning ways, earning a 21-15, 21-16 win in the team’s penultimate match against Eastern Illinois. The pair then closed out the weekend, and their regular season, with a hard-fought 21-14, 25-23 victory against Morehead State to finish undefeated in conference play this season. Additionally, Clark and Vale have won their last eight matches in a row the No. 1 spot for the Mocs.
Clark, Vale and the rest of the Chattanooga beach volleyball squad continue their trophy hunt this weekend, as the team is set to host the 2025 OVC Championships at the UTC Sports Complex. The Sandy Mocs, who enter as the No. 1 overall seed and reigning 2024 tournament champs, get underway at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 24 with a match against either Lindenwood or Tennessee Tech.
