Nicole Greenfield
Nicole Greenfield was named Lee University’s 2025 Charles Paul Conn Award recipient and was recognized for this achievement during the school’s Honors Chapel.
“It is entirely because of the grace of God that I have won this award,” said Ms. Greenfield. “It comes as a great encouragement that scholarship and academics are where God has called me. Lee University has taught me so much, and while I hope to go and study and further my education, Lee will always be home. I leave knowing I have the vote of confidence of the faculty here, and I hope to make them proud.”
The CPC Award is given to a Lee senior who demonstrates the greatest promise of achievement in graduate or professional studies after graduating from Lee. Established in 1996, it is named after Lee’s 16th president. Each department may nominate one student for the award. From these nominees, a winner is selected by a faculty vote.
"Nicole has an ability to grasp various theological views and ascertain the strengths and weaknesses from them,” said Dr. Terry Cross, dean of the School of Theology & Ministry and distinguished professor of systematic theology. “She comes to the task of theology with the mind of a discerning student yet also the heart of a committed Christian. This combination augurs well for her future work in graduate school."
During her time at Lee, Ms. Greenfield received the Presidential and Centennial scholarships and was placed on the Dean’s List from fall 2021 through fall 2024. She was also published in McNair Scholars Research Journal #7.
Ms. Greenfield is a member of the Theta Alpha Kappa Honor Society and is a Poiema and McNair Scholar. She was a member of the Lee Prayer Leadership team her freshman year and has served as a resident chaplain since fall 2022. Ms. Greenfield works as a student worker in the School of Theology & Ministry and is an active volunteer both at her local church and in her trips abroad to Colombia.
“Nicole perfectly embodies the spirit of the School of Theology & Ministry and Lee University,” said Dr. Daniel Glover, assistant professor of New Testament. “She is committed to the community, which she has shown by her broad campus involvement. Her obvious leadership potential and dedication to her work has earned her several wonderful opportunities during her time here at Lee.”
Ms. Greenfield will graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in intercultural studies with a vocational global transformation emphasis and minors in biblical/theological studies and Spanish. She was accepted into graduate programs at Emory University, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Duke Divinity School. She will attend Princeton Theological Seminary in the fall to pursue a master’s degree in theological studies.
