UTC Golfers Sixth At Liz Murphey Classix

The Chattanooga Mocs are in sixth place at the Liz Murphey Classix in Athens, Ga. The Mocs opened with 309 in the opening 18 at UGA Golf Course before closing with 295 for a 604 total.

The first round was led by Violeta Fernandez-Tagle’s 74. Makenzie Cooper chipped in 77 with Kera Healey and Giulia Foresta contributing 79s each. Cooper, Healey and Chloe Stevenazzi led the way in the afternoon with 73s. Fernandez-Tagle closed the account with a 76. Jillian Fatkin from Queens is the individual leader at 2-under 142.

Georgia Southern has the lead.
The Eagles are three clear of host Georgia with Missouri and Alabama tied for third, 14 strokes off the pace. Oklahoma rounds out the top 5 just four ahead of the Mocs in sixth.
