  • Wednesday, April 9, 2025

On the morning of April 3, 2025 Kelly Ann Dooling Hebestreit Peters passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Kelly suffered from numerous physical ailments all stemming from a car accident in 1996. Her back injury required numerous major spine surgeries and some unintended consequences from the spine surgeries necessitated other major surgical interventions. Nevertheless, Kelly made it her mission to present herself as if everything was fine and thus her goal was achieved not to unduly burden others. Kelly finally succumbed to poor lung function with many symptoms of COPD and sepsis from a UTI which caused renal failure.

Kelly graduated from Seaholm High School in Rochester Michigan in three years and became a certified cosmetology instructor and was also a well-known hairstylist in Rochester. Kelly attended Hixson First Baptist Church, a church which she loved.

Kelly is survived by daughters, Cassandra Marie Peters Terry, Jenna Elizabeth Peters Lewis and husband of 31 years, Gerret M. Peters, Jr., stepdaughters, Jessica Elizabeth Peters Gray, Olivia Marie Peters Rivera, Anna-Louise Marie Peters Dubois and stepson, Gerret M Peters IV. In all, Kelly enjoyed 17 grandchildren. Kelly is also survived by her mother, Ann Fremont Reilly, sister Elizabeth Dooling Rackley and brother Daniel Dooling.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. A Celebration of Life will be held for Kelly in the funeral home chapel at 5 p.m. on April 19, 2025.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
