A Contrast Of Leadership

  • Wednesday, May 14, 2025
President Trump recently traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to promote and expand international trade and, more importantly, to bring investment home. Upon meeting the Saudi Crown Prince, Trump met him from a position of strength, a respectful meeting of world leaders very unlike Trump’s predecessors meeting Saudi royalty.

In 2009 at a session of the G20, President Obama met Saudi King Abdullah. When they greeted each other, Obama bent over leading to criticisms he bowed to the king which a WH spokesman later denied.
Even NPR on their website showed Obama’s bow, which was not a good look for an American president (NPR 6/3/09). See it and judge for yourselves.

When Joe Biden went to Saudi Arabia in August of 2022 to beg for an increase in oil production to lower gas prices before the mid-terms, his visit fell flat. Joe’s phone calls had gone unanswered, so the trip was a last resort. Not even Joe “Cool’s” fist bump could stop the Saudis from reducing production or their revealing Biden’s team asked them to hold off on the reduction until after mid-terms (NYPost 10/13/22).

Trump didn’t kowtow nor beg for increased oil production from a foreign nation at the expense of our own domestic production - just the contrary. This all highlights the differences in leadership, like who was running the country between 2021-2024? The tell-all books paint a dark picture of a WH in turmoil, as well as the party. Democrats’ current internal civil war is a disaster, but the bigger one is if they ever get back in power.
