Thomas "Tom" William Bowen
Thomas "Tom" William Bowen, aka T-Bone, 77, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Tom was born on Nov. 24, 1947, to the late Paul Bowen and Evelyn (Billie) Bowen Blaylock. He grew up in the St. Elmo community of Chattanooga. He was a 1965 graduate of Chattanooga High School. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 43 for 18 years. Tom was the owner of T-Bone’s Cafe at the corner of Chestnut and Main Streets in Chattanooga for 32 years. He was an All-American softball player playing on three national tournament teams. He was inducted into the Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame in 2000. Tom was loved by all he met and leaves behind many lifelong friends.
Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Bowen, his mother, Billie Blaylock, and his brother James (Jim) Bowen.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Bowen, two daughters, Stacy (Randy) Sherrill, Sherri Reed, step-daughter, Michelle Turner, four grandsons, Brady Reed, Trey (Courtney) Sherrill, Drew (Bailey) Sherrill, Mason Sherrill, three great-grandsons, Bowen, Liam, and Cooper.
Tom’s life will be remembered at a Celebration of Life gathering on a date to be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
