Scott Eugene Martin
Scott Eugene Martin, 60, passed peacefully into the arms of God in the early morning hours of June5, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, he was born Nov 17, 1964, a son of Dianne Layne Hixson.
Scott was a believer in Christ and loved spending time with family. Nothing brought him more joy than the day his sons were born, and that joy multiplied with the arrival of each precious grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Carl H. Layne, Sr. and Sarah L. Layne; uncles: Larry E. Layne, Carl H. Layne, Jr. and Thomas Layne; a brother, Marty Martin; and mother-in-law, Judith Davidson.
Scott is survived by his mother, Dianne Hixson (Boyd); sons, Sean D. Martin (Jenny) and Richard C. Martin (Laura); aunt, Deborah Storch (Kurt); uncles, John Layne and Emory Layne (Debbie); grandchildren: Luke, Elena, Cooper, and Chase Martin; step son Michael Smith (Erika); his former wife, Patricia Freeman, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Scott will be held at a later date.
