The Point Children’s Academy, a newly licensed childcare center at 9129 Dayton Pike on the campus of Stoney Point Baptist Church, will officially open its doors on Monday, Aug. 4. The center has been awarded a $100,000 Establishment Grant from Childcare Tennessee to support the establishment of a high-quality child care center in the community. As you may recall, our Hamilton County Mayor, without input from our elected Hamilton County Commissioners, sold our Hamilton County Health Department’s facilities and the prime real estate it sat upon, to Erlanger for the paltry sum of $10 million. What a deal. No wonder Erlanger could afford to pay $2.5 million per year for the naming rights for the Chattanooga Lookouts’ Erlanger Field. Lookouts Win Series Opener At Barons

Starting pitcher Zach Willeman made the most of his first start with the Chattanooga Lookouts Tuesday night. The 29 year old minor league veteran tossed five scoreless innings while allowing only three hits and striking out two. After Willeman's exit the Dodgers' bullpen was outstanding. Arij Fransen struck out four of the six hitters he faced and allowed no hits or runs. Trevor Kuncl threw a scoreless ninth as he seems to always do, his tenth save on the season.
