Covenant Loses 2-1 At Emory In Men's Soccer

The Covenant men's soccer team closed out opening weekend on the road at Emory, looking to defeat the Eagles for the second year in a row. Emory had other ideas, using two goals in quick succession to earn a 2-1 comeback victory. In the 18th minute, the Eagles nearly took the lead as Josh Grand smashed the right goalpost with a shot. Neither of the goalkeepers had to make a save in the final 30 minutes of the first half. At the intermission, Emory had outshot Covenant 9-3. ... more

No. 24/18 Tennessee opened its 2025 season in commanding fashion Saturday afternoon, racing past Syracuse, 45-26, In the Aflac Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Vols (1-0) struck quickly with 17 first-quarter points. After Max Gilbert drilled a 34-yard field goal on UT's opening drive, sophomore running back Peyton Lewis capped an 85-yard march with a 2-yard touchdown plunge.
