Soddy-Daisy Dentist Charged With Impersonating Licensed Professional

  • Wednesday, April 9, 2003

A Soddy-Daisy dentist, Dr. William David Hinds, has been charged with impersonation of a licensed professional.

County Det. Jeff Parton said he received complaints from a local pharmacist that Hinds was practicing dentistry without a valid license.

He said he contacted the state and found his license was revoked in 1991 for improper prescribing and had not been reinstated.

The detective said he went to the office at 8961 Dayton Pike and found Hinds doing a procedure on a patient.

He said he directed him to cease the procedure and placed him under arrest.

The detective said when he went to the office, Jack Morton, a dentist who had practiced from the same office, was in the waiting area.

Hinds is due in General Sessions Court on April 25 at 1:30 p.m.
