Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Marty Redish will conduct a seminar entitled: Partial Knee Resurfacing – Alternative to Total Knee Replacement. The seminar will be in Parkridge Medical Center’s Fowler Classroom at 2333 McCallie Avenue on Thursday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m.
Many patients have undergone total knee replacement when only one-half of the knee is degenerated. Partial Knee Resurfacing (PKR) is a conservative approach to treating knee conditions, said officials. It preserves the kneecap and leaves healthy tissue intact. PKR is less traumatic to the body, has a quicker recovery time and requires an overnight hospital stay.
The surgery requires only a three or four inch incision and walking without crutches or a cane begins soon after surgery.
Learn more about this procedure from Dr. Marty Redish, who for five years has worked to perfect this technique on over 400 knees with a high rate of patient satisfaction.
