Upcoming Special Event And Construction Related Road Closures Announced

The Chattanooga Division of Transportation announces the following:

Upcoming Special Event Road Closures

Nightfall:
The following roads and intersections will be closed every Friday from May 2 through July 4 for Nightfall. Closure times are noted:
3 p.m.-midnight -
• Cherry Street between E. Martin Luther King Boulevard/Georgia Avenue and E. 8th Street. Access will be maintained to the parking garage from E. 8th Street.
5:30 p.m.-midnight*
• Martin Luther King Boulevard between Broad Street and Lindsay Street;
• Market Street between 10th Street and 8th Street;
• Georgia Avenue between E.
10th Street and Patten Parkway; and
• All street parking within the above closures.
*July 4th Only: All closures except Cherry Street will begin at 3:30 p.m.


Summerween:
Patten Parkway between Lindsay Street and Georgia Avenue will be closed Saturday, June 28 from noon-11:30 p.m. for Summerween.


Riverfront Nights:
Riverfront Parkway between Power Alley and Chestnut Street will be closed Saturday, June 28 from noon-11 p.m. Detours will be routed via Chestnut Street, Power Alley and Aquarium Way. All tractor-trailers and vehicles with greater than two axles are prohibited between W. Martin Luther King Boulevard and E. Aquarium Way. Detours will be posted for these vehicles.


Upcoming Construction Road Closures

Chestnut Street between W. 4th and W. 3rd:
Northbound Chestnut Street between W. 4th Street and W. 3rd Street will be closed Saturday, June 28 between 5:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. for sign installation. Detours will be posted.


Broad Street Southbound:
Broad Street southbound between 8th Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard will be reduced to a single lane on Monday, June 30 from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. for a crane lift.
