Ella Bernice Lively Combs, 67, of Apison, Tn., died on Saturday, October 27, 2007.

She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Lillian Lively and was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bobby Lamar Combs and sister, Virginia "Gina" Faye Davis.

She was a member of Apison Baptist Church and was known for her smiles and encouraging words.

She graduated from Tyner High School in 1958. Bernice previously owned The Lively Bookkeepers Service and Bernice Combs Realty. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star # 35.

She is survived by her two sons, Steve (Karen) Combs, of Ringgold, Mitch (Cheryl) Combs, of Apison; nine grandchildren, Misty Eaton, Stephani Combs, Ashley Merriman, all of Chattanooga, Ericka Combs, Pristine Combs, Samantha Combs, all of Ringgold, Tim (Carrie) Hudson, Erin (Jonathan) Frazier, of Chattanooga, Cassie Fay, of Winchester, Tn.; eight great-grandchildren, Dakota Eaton, Landon Merriman, Kyleigh Eaton, Jackson Perales, Austin Hudson, Brianna Frazier, Hayden Morris, Tailar Forrester; brother, Gene (Jan) Lively, of Ooltewah; sister, Beth (Dennis) Stafford, of Chattanooga; uncle, Earl Lively, of Wa.; aunt, Jaunita Lively, of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Spinks officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens – East.

The family will receive friends from 2 -4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Davy Daniels, Dr. Richard Peters, Dr. Kimsey and all the Memorial Hospital fourth floor staff for their loving and compassionate care.
