Hassel Pittman Hood, 92, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007.
He was a native of Dickson, Tennessee but had lived in Chattanooga since 1949. He was a member of Red Bank Church of Christ where for many years he served as an elder. He retired from TVA Sequoyah Nuclear Plant in 1976 with 36 years of service. He was a graduate of Corne Electrical College in Chicago, Il.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Evelyn Tidwell Hood.
He is survived by his son, James Pittman Hood (Susan) of Chattanooga; grandsons, Ken (Karen) Hood of Ft. Oglethorpe and David (Lynn) Hood of Murfreesboro; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Christopher Hood of Murfreesboro; sister, Eunice Jackson of Nashville; and a devoted friend, Virginia Hale of Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel with David Schonhoff officiating. Burial will be private in Union Cemetery in Dickson, Tennessee.
