KNOXVILLE -- Tennessee head athletic trainer Jason McVeigh reports that tailback Arian Foster underwent successful arthroscopic knee surgery Friday.
Drs. Greg Mathien and Russell Betcher of the Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic handled the procedure on Fosters left knee. McVeigh expects Foster to make a full recovery in 4-6 weeks and be ready by the March 11 opening to spring practice.
VOL, LADY VOL STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED TO SEC FALL HONOR ROLL
The Southeastern Conference announced Friday that 483 student-athletes, including 44 from Tennessee, were named to the 2007 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
The combined Vols and Lady Vols figure marks nearly a 13 percent increase over UTs 39 fall honorees from a year ago. For the second year in a row, 25 Tennessee football players and six volleyball players were selected, while soccer increased its honorees from eight to 13.
Only student-athletes from those three fall participation sports are eligible for the fall listing. The honor roll is based on grades from the 2007 spring, summer and fall semesters.
