Charles Rhoden
Charles David Rhoden Sr., 84, of East Ridge died on Friday, November 7, 2008 in a local hospital.
He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Mr. Rhoden was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Major after 21 years of service and was a P47 pilot during WWII. He was a member of Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club, the Retired Officers Association and was a Mason.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Inez Young, Christine Robertson and Glenda Evans and a brother, Ronald Max Roden.
Survivors include his wife, Helen B. Rhoden; two sons, Charles David Rhoden Jr. and Mark Richard Rhoden and his wife, Deborah; three grandchildren, Charles David Rhoden III and his wife, Natalie, Amanda Renee Rhoden and Melanie Ann Watson and her husband, Chad; three great-grandchildren, John David Rhoden, Connor McCauley Rhoden and Emma Rose Watson; two brothers, John Harold Rhoden and Leon Rhoden; one sister, Shirley Gshwind; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Father Mike Nolan officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday and from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
