Family, Past Students Help Charlotte Keelin Jordan Celebrate 99th Birthday

Family and past students helped beloved teacher Charlotte Keelin Jordan celebrate her 99th birthday at the Convention Center on Saturday.

Born March 15, 1909 in Chattanooga, she attended St. Elmo Grammar School, Howard High School and Tennessee State University. She taught in the Hamilton County school system for 45 years.

She taught at Harrison Elementary School for seven years, Summit Elementary School for 30 years, and Ooltewah Elementary School for eight years.

She is the widow of James C. Jordan and mother of Norma (Mack) Rolland.

Her hobbies include reading. Her favorite authors are Pearl S. Buck and Dr. Charles Stanley.

Mrs. Jordan is known for her patience and expertise as a teacher, winning personality and care and concern for others.
