Retired From Candlewick Yarns After 22 Years

Vivian Carolyn Whiddon, 75, of Ft. Oglethorpe, died on July 27, 2008 at a local hospital.

Mrs. Whiddon was born on March 9, 1933, to the late James and Mabel Morgan, and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area where she was a member of the Terra Vista Baptist Church in Chattanooga.

She retired in 1994 from Candlewick Yarns with 22 years of service and she also worked with Hamrick’s in Chattanooga and Ft. Oglethorpe during her retirement.

She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, George Arthur Morgan, Charles Joseph Morgan, Lillie Virginia Morgan Palmer, Edwin Earl Morgan, Sr., Elizabeth Ann Morgan Seagraves, and Wilma Helen Morgan Harper; and two sons, Richard Curtis Whiddon and William Arther Whiddon.

Survivors include three sons, James (Paula) Whiddon, Charles Whiddon, and Thomas Whiddon; sister, Vera Sue Morgan; grandchildren, Tracy (Bill) Cagle, Terri (Allen) Brown, Carolyn Kittle, Robert (Cassy) Whiddon, Phillip Whiddon, Paul (Kandis) Whiddon, and Billy Whiddon; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Mike Curtis officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
